First Day of PreK!

Now that we have settled back in and things have returned to normal, I am hoping to be a more consistent blogger!
This past week Kyler started his first day of PreK and he absolutely loved it!  He said some pretty funny things that I have to share.  On the way to school he said, "Mom, I think I am going to need to cry a little bit today at school!"  Ha, he cracks me up and actually we had no tears.  Just a little shyness that lasted all of five minutes!
When I went to pick him up I asked him how his day went.  He said, " Well Mom, I didn't get kicked out!"  Trying not to laugh, I told him I was proud about that!  He proceeds to tell me, "I didn't suck my thumb or use any naughty words!"  Awesome - this is definitely the pep talk he received from Daddy! More on the thumb sucking later...it is a blog post all of its own!
So here are some picture of the big PreK boy on his first day!

Adios State College!

Well, we have survived another baseball summer!  Our time in State College was absolutely wonderful!  We met some great people, watched LOTS of baseball, and made memories that will last a lifetime!  There will definitely be things that we will miss...

1.) Our "cabin" - Yes, we made our one bedroom, one bathroom cabin work for the summer and to be honest it was perfect for us!  Both of our kids slept in closets!  We were about 20 feet from the Spring Creek.  Kyler was able to do some fishing, throw rocks, help in the garden, and see lots of deer and bunnies.  He enjoyed batting practice in the yard EVERYDAY!  He also made a great friend this summer, Mr. Gary, who gave him LOTS of Gator rides and let him help mow on the big John Deere tractor.  To say Kyler was in his element would be an understatement!

2.)  There is something about living in a college town...It's exciting.  There is always something to do!  Justin's baseball stadium was right beside the football field.  Kyler was fascinated with how big it was and asked me all summer when we were going to a game! Ha!

3.) Hanging out with Daddy in the bullpen.  Before every home game, I took the boys early so they could see their Daddy.  Justin would take them down on the field and Kyler would "warm up" in the bullpen!  It was really cute!  Kyler loves being one of the big boys!

4.) Last but not least...We will definitely miss our cousins.  We were only about 3 hours from our family in New Jersey which meant that when Justin was gone on a really long road trip, I would pack up the boys and we would head to NJ to spend time with our family.  We got to see Missouri cousins as well as Mimi!  It was wonderful to be near some family for the summer since we don't live by anyone the remainder of the year.  Kyler can't wait until he is "big like Bryce!"  He has also been asking me when we are going to Aunt Mel and Uncle Jer's house....he does not understand they are no longer a car drive away!
